About The Owners
This is the team to turn to when you need high-quality, custom signage to help your business stand out! Whether it’s an eye-catching storefront sign, vehicle lettering, detailed interior signage, or even acrylic art for your home, we pride ourselves on delivering personalized service as we work to bring your vision to life.
Portage Signs & Lettering was started by Ray and Carlene Walmsley in 1984. The company was then sold to Greg Johnstone in 2000, and has been owned by Jackie and Tyler Klaassen since 2023.
Jackie and Tyler Klaassen have raised their families in Portage la Prairie, and are passionate about supporting the community that supports them. When they’re not working, Jackie enjoys reading, camping, and chasing sunsets, while Tyler fills his time with working on cars, and driving Jackie around to catch those sunsets.

It’s experience you can trust! When Tyler isn’t in the office helping with signs and decals, he can be found on the road with AA Autoglass, fixing glass and windshields, meeting clients, and bringing a face to both businesses.
